Welcome to one of the two 1999 top-rated Juko-Kai International martial arts clubs in the world!!
W. Dan Hausel, Soke, retired from the Wyoming Geological Survey in January of 2007 and moved the Hombu to Gilbert, Arizona where he began training martial artists in the Phoenix valley. Faculty, staff and students at the University of Wyoming can still train at the University of Wyoming Campus Shorin-Ryu Karate & Kobudo Club under Shihan Ben Froidevaux, Soke-Dai Eric Hausel and Sensei Kyle Linton. The UW club is one of the longest standing University martial arts clubs in the US and was established in 1977.
The UW Campus Shorin-Ryu Karate & Kobudo club trains 5 times weekly. Members have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the Seiyo Shorin-Ryu martial arts including traditions, karate, self-defense, kata (forms), bunkai (applications), jujutsu, kobujutsu, kobudo (ancient Okinawan weapons), and meditation. New members are welcome to join anytime, and will be offered independent training with one of the clubs several black belt members. All ranks and diplomas are certified through Seiyo No Shorin-Ryu Karate Kobudo Kai, which is a member of Zen Kokusai Soke Budo/Bugei Renmei, a division of Juko Kai International. All diplomas issued by this Association are fully approved by ZZSBBR, JKI and its Asian affiliates in Okinawa and Japan.
